THIS NOMINATION WAS SUBMITTED BY WANDA ROBINSON (FRIEND):
Officer Shalonda Tompkins is a very kind, generous, loving, and helpful person.
At work we've had officers who have been through difficult times -- mentally, physically, and financially – and on numerous occasions she has generously shown up to support them.
A recent situation where an officer was severely injured in an accident, Officer Tompkins, a motorcycle enthusiast, sponsored a ride to help him financially get through while recovering. When another officer was injured in an accident, not only did she gather a monetary donation -- she helped with his 3 boys activities when he wasn't able to be there and she helped to make sure they had groceries and an awesome Christmas.
When one of our colleague loss his daughter in an unfortunate accident overseas Officer Tompkins matched the monetary donations from her own personal finances. She did all of this without expecting the slightest bit of recognition.
Officer Tompkins is an inspiration to many others. She inspires others so that they will want to be better friends, co-workers, and all around better people. I believe that this is just her genuine character, whether she wins the award or not she will continue to do these acts of kindness. This is just how she is. In the midst of experiencing her own tremendous loss – losing someone very dear to her during these times -- even when she was going through, she still had the energy to check in on others.
Nominating Officer Tompkins for the Supreme Woman Award is one way to let her know that all of her generous acts of kindness are not going unnoticed or unappreciated.
